LEONA CECIL DIES, FUNERAL IN MILTON

Native of Van Buren county passed away Saturday afternoon

Leona B. Cecil, native of Van Buren county, passed away Saturday afternoon following an illness of more than a year. She had been in a serious condition for the past two weeks.

Funeral services were held this morning at 10:30 in the Methodist church in Milton, her former home. She was laid to rest in the Milton cemetery. The body was taken to Milton from the Hoskins funeral home.

Leona Cecil was born July 30, 1890. She moved to Fairfield August 1, 1939 and lived at 1103 East Burlington street. She is past school teacher and taught 15 years at Oelwien, Iowa, besides in many other cities and towns.

She is survived by two brothers, Dr. Henry L. Cecil, New York, and Dale Cecil, who is a member of the armed forces.
