Louis "Bill" Warren Fields, 86, of Donnellson, Iowa passed away 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at the Donnellson Health Center.
Born May 13, 1927 in Fort Madison, Iowa the son of Effie Marie (Doty) Fields. On May 29, 1963 he married Joan Ayers in Fort Madison, Iowa, she preceded him in death.
Survivors include his children Tonya (May) Burnett of Apache Junction, Arizona, Cheryl (May) Brookhiser of Florence, Arizona, Rebecca (May) Burnhardt (husband Darrell) of Solon, Iowa, Judy (May) Hohl (husband Kevin) of Farmington, Iowa, Phillip May (wife Pattie) of Burwick, Iowa, Robert Fields of Donnellson, Iowa, Terri (Fields) Bowman (husband Steve) of Carmen, Illinois, Wanda (Payne) Schelby of Keokuk, Iowa and Connie (Payne) Lemon (husband Steve) of Boone, Iowa, twenty three grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren, six great great-grandchildren, two sisters Carolyn "Kay" (Fields) Gregg of Bonaparte, Iowa and Frances Gilcrest (husband Bill) of Rockford, Michigan and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joan, his parents, one brother Freddy Fields, one sister Judith (Fields) Lewis, one son Rodney Fields, one grandson Gary Saunders and one granddaughter Trudy Brown, one great-grandson Stevie Schelby.
Bill was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad, American Paper Products Company, Anchor Metals for twenty six years, State Central Bank as a courier and the Wal-Mart Dispatch Center. Bill was a member of the American Legion and the Americana League Bowling.
Friends may call and meet with the family from 12 Noon to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson with Brother Gary Billings officiating. Following the service there will be a flag presentation by the Donnellson American Legion.
Burial will follow at the Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington, Iowa.
A memorial has been established in his memory to the Donnellson Health Center
