Samuel W. Todd

Samuel William Todd, son of Jarvis E. and Hannah Blackledge Todd, was born Feb. 26, 1874. He departed from this life after a lingering illness in Sacred Heart hospital in Fort Madison, Iowa, Feb. 6, 1951, at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 10 days.

He was born on a farm in Clark county, Mo. and spent most of his life in that community with the exception of a few years. He was well known and took a great interest in farming and was cheerful. Friendliness with those whom he came in contact made him many friends.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Ernestine, and two sons, William Samuel of Granger, Mo. and Albert Eugene of Mt. Sterling, Iowa, and one grandson, William Alden. His father, mother and four brothers and four sisters preceded him in death. Also one grandson.

He will sadly missed by all who knew him. Pallbearers were Russell Heald, William Parks, Ira Parks, Henry Wiegand, Tony Sherry and Roy Young. Services were conducted Thursday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. at the Christian church in Mt. Sterling, Iowa, of which he was a member, in charge of Rev. Merritt H. Baker of Memphis, Mo. Keith Gaston had charge of the music. Final resting place Blackledge cemetery.
