Charlie Leroy Seth, son of Francis M. and Olive Bruce Seth was born on October 30, 1896 near Croton, Lee County, Iowa where he spent the early part of his life. He departed this life at his home near Farmington, Iowa, August 4, 1943 at the age of 46 years, 9 months and 6 days. His death came unexpectedly and without warning, which was a great shock to neighbors and friends as well as the family.

During the years of 1917 he was united in marriage to Estel Wells and to this union were born two sons.

His mother preceded him in death in his early childhood and his father in later years.

Although he never united with any church, his family loyalty, understanding nature, kindness and generosity to all friends proved his Christianity throughout the entire community. His onward journey has deeply saddened his many friends and loved ones.

He leaves to mourn his departure, his devoted wife; two sons, Harley Seth and wife of Farmington, Iowa and Bernard Seth at home; one grandchild, Wendell Lee Seth; a nephew, Victor Anthony who has spent a large part of his life in the home; two sisters, Mrs. John Parsons of Donnellson, Iowa and Mrs. Marlin Skinner of Keokuk, Iowa; one brother Hiram Seth of Burlington, Iowa; his aged mother-in-law, Mrs. Bell Wells of Kahoka, Missouri; a number of sisters and brothers-in-law, aunts, nephews and nieces.

Funeral services were held from the Acasto Church Sunday, August 8, 1943 conducted by the Rev. Monte Peterson of Kahoka. The body was laid to rest in the Acasto Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: J.C. Weaver, Bart Peterie, Friend Harness, Earl Endersweisen, Joe Gares and Gilbert Bell.
