LES STURDIVANT

Bonaparte relatives received notice last week of the death of a former well known long time resident of this vicinity, Les Sturdivant, 79, at his home in Kansas City. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Sturdivant, pioneers on their farm, a few miles northeast of Bonaparte, where he was born and grew to manhood. He went to Kansas City about 50 years ago and for years had an extensive insurance business, until forced to retire several years ago because of failing health. He is survived by his wife and one son, Kenneth Sturdivant, who is an attorney of Kansas City, two brothers, Cassie Sturdivant of Bonaparte and Cleve Sturdivant of Oregon City, Oregon, besides other relatives. Funeral services and burial were at Kansas City last Saturday.
