O.W. Swartz Dies Saturday At Hospital
Oscar W. Swartz, railroad man and rancher, died at 1:30 Saturday at the local hospital, following a long illness. His health failed in December, 1944, and he and his wife had returned only tow weeks ago from the Mayo clinic in Rochester, Minn.
Swartz was born in Alamosa Oct., 15, 1889, of a pioneer family who had settled here in 1880. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen and of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his widow, Iylene, two daughters, Mrs. Ann Walsh of Los Angeles and Mrs. Sybela Mountfort of Monte Vista, and by seven grandchildren.
Announcement of the services will be made later, pending the arrival of Mrs. Walsh.
