CHARLES HENRY RILEY

Charles Henry. Son of James and Arvilla Wells Riley, was born near Anson, clark county, Missouri, April 3, 1875, and departed this life April 19, 1945, at Graham hospital in Keokuk, Iowa, at the age of 70 years and 16 days.

He was married to Miss Sarah Cornelia Northup august 7, 1900, at Kahoka, Mo., and to this union the following children were born: Mrs. Frank Carothers (Opal Juanita) Anson, Mo., Mrs. Kenneth Thomas (Cornelia Hallie), Jessup, Iowa, Mrs. wm. G. Kautz (Julia Corinne), Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Milton Adams (Maude Pauline), Oak Park, Ill., Mrs. Al Swartz (Vergia Marie), Oak Park, Ill.; Miss Lula Eva Riley, Chicago, Ill. and Henry Charles of Anson.

The following grandchildren: Beatrice and John Charles Thomas, Sylvia Carothers and William Geo. Kautz. Bothers(sic) Alexia Riley, Calvin Riley and Philip Riley, all of near Anson, and two sisters, Mrs. Julia Dixon, McCannon, Idaho, and Mrs. Elizabeth Cane, Albuquerque, N. M. Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Frank Riley and Eugene Riley; also one sister, Mrs. Nevada McClain.

When a young man he accepted Christ as his Savior and united with the Congregational church at Anson, Mo., and had l8ived an honest upright Christian life. His entire life was spent in the Anson community, where he has been a farmer and fruit grower. For many years he was a member of the I. O. O. F. lodge at Revere, Mo.

Mr. Riley was a great lover of his family and home and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services were held at the Anson Community church Saturday _____cut off____.

The singers were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Christy, Mrs. Birdie Vornkahl and Mannie Baugher, also there was a solo by Rev. Milton Dawson, accompanied by Mrs. Ruth Dyer.

The pallbearers were Frank Collins, Worthy Wallingford, Elmer Vornkahl, Alpha Martin, Brad Greenleaf and Hugh Stewart.

Interment was in Anson cemetery.
