MRS. MAGGIE STORY

Maggie June Neff, daughter of George and Lucinda Neff, was born March 31, 1871 in Clark county, Missouri, in the Acasto community near Farmington, Iowa and passed away Dec. 14, 1954 at the Van County Memorial hospital in Keosauqua, at the age of 83 years, 8 months and 14 days.

She grew to womanhood in the Acasto community and on Sept. 6, 1900 was united in marriage to Delbert Story.

To this union was born one son, J. C., who survives and lives near Stockport; also surviving are a niece, Mrs. Nora Fluecky of Lagora, Calif., four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She, with her husband, moved to Farmington in 1912, where she spent the remainder of her life. While here she joined the Methodist church which she attended as often as physical health would permit. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors for many years, and was widely known for her beautiful quilting, spending many long and happy hours at this work.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one sister, three brothers, being the last of a family of five.

Now Mother Story has passed on to that happier home where there is no sorrow or pain. All who knew her were her friends as was very evident by the number of people who called on her during the last few years of her illness.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Farmington Methodist church with the Rev. Donald Arthur officiating. Interment will be in Christy Cemetery.
