JOHN JACOB SHERRY

John Jacob Sherry, son of Jacob and Mary Ann Sherry, was born Jan. 3, 1874 at Fort Madison, Iowa and departed this life on March 15, 1954 at Dubuque, Iowa. Burial was made at Farley, Iowa March 18.

He was married to Jane Jester in Dallas, Texas in 1899. She died at Farley, Iowa in June 1940.

Two sons were born in Texas, John Anthony Sherry of Mt. Sterling, Iowa, and Harry Jacob Sherry of Davenport, Iowa. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. C. R. Folker of near Farmington, Iowa; three grandchildren, Mrs. Kenneth Stotts and Mrs. Jack Dorothy of Keosauqua, and Mr. Steven Sherry of Davenport; and three great-grandchildren, Toni, Sherri and Viola Stotts of Keosauqua.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Christine and Kathrun, and three brothers, Henry, Joe and John.

Mr. Sherry lived in the Acasto community a great part of his life, farming and raising stock. He also worked in Oklahoma, where he trained horses.
