MRS. ELMER NEALLY

Gertrude Mabel, only daughter of James and Luella Perkins, was born near Bonaparte, Iowa, Nov. 17, 1877, and died at the home of her parents on Thursday morning, December 15, 1932, aged 55 years and 28 days.

Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church in Bonaparte, Rev. Barber of Eldon, an old friend of the family, officiating, assisted by Rev. Flanagan of Bonaparte. Rev. Barber selected as a basis for his remarks the words --- “lay up yourself treasures in Heaven.” Three songs were song by a male quartet, the numbers chosen being favorites of Mrs. Neally.

On the 26th day of November, 1907, she was united in marriage with Elmer Neally, her now bereaved companion, and the greater part of their wedded life was enjoyed in Moline, Ill., where Mr. Neally was employed. She was a faithful member of the Methodist church.

The last two months have been spent at the home of her parents south of Bonaparte where everything that loving hands and hearts could do was done to save her life, but to no avail.

Her only brother, Shirley, passed away on Jan. 2, 1904. She is survived by her husband, her parents, many other relatives and a host of friends.

Intelligent, refined, noble, no lady ever lived in Bonaparte or elsewhere who both as a girl and a woman was by all classes more respected and beloved than Mrs. Neally and her passing away seems to sadden every heart.
