Mrs. Chester Lundgren

The very sudden death of Mrs. Chester L. Lindgren at her home in Milton, last Thursday evening, came as a great shock to her relatives and friends, as she had apparently been in excellent health up to the evening before her death. A slight indisposition caused her to consult a physician on Wednesday evening, who diagnosed her problem as high blood pressure. It was not considered that there was any cause for immediate alarm, and she and her husband went for a drive before retiring. However, she suffered a heart attack early next morning, and passed quietly away in her sleep about seven o’clock.

Mr. and Mrs. Lundgren had only been married six months and had made their home in Milton where Mrs. Lundgren’s son, Theodore Story had joined them, and the family life was proving a very happy one.

Esther Betty Sack, daughter of Charles and Minnie Sack, was born August 20th, 1883, on a farm near Warsaw, Ill., and passed away very suddenly on March 28th, 1940, at her home in Milton, Iowa.

She received her education in the rural and small town schools, and upon leaving high school was married to Homer Story, to which union one son, Theodore Story was born.

For the past two years Mrs. Lundgren had lived in Milton, where she had been engaged in practical nursing. On Oct. 30th, 1939, she was married to Mr. C. L. Lundgren.

She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, her son, Theodore Story; two sisters, Mrs. Cora Cartnal of Farmington, and Mrs. Maude Bacus of Kahoka; one brother, Charles Sack of Ft. Madison; a number of nieces and nephews. Her parents and one sister preceded her in death.

In early life she had united with the Methodist church and was a conscientious Christian woman. Her happy disposition and pleasing personality had won for her many warm friends.

The funeral services were held in Milton on Saturday afternoon, March 30, at the Burnett funeral home, the Rev. Harvey E. Butler of the Methodist church officiating. A large number of relatives from out of the city and many friends from over the county were in attendance.
