John E. Kirkpatrick

John Emery Kirkpatrick, 65, passed away Sunday, June 8, in Veterans hospital, Iowa City.

A resident of Farmington most of his life, he was born at Plano, August 1, 1893, the son of Dr. William J. and Elizabeth Folker Kirkpatrick. He was married to Mary Virginia Smith on December 31, 1922, at Topeka, Kan. She passed away May 4, 1952.

Surviving are two sons and two daughters: Joseph William, Pasco, Wash.; John Edward, Richland, Washington; Mrs. Virginia Senay, Gardena, Calif.; and Mrs. James Davolt, Fort Madison. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Mayme Hunt, Oakland, Calif.

Funeral services will be held at Azbell’s Funeral Chapel at 2:30 Friday afternoon, June 13 with Rev. M. Ellsworth Walker officiating. Burial will be in Farmington cemetery.
