Wixom Dies After Blast

Farmington Man Had Returned to Building for Coat; Leaves Wife and 4 Children.

Funeral services for Clarence E. Wixom of Farmington, who was injured fatally in the ordnance plant blast near Burlington shortly before midnight March 4, were held at the Baptist church in Farmington at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. The Rev. Walter D. Wiggers officiated. Burial was at Green Glade cemetery.

Mr. Wixom, who was 44 years old, had left his station at the ordnance plant at the end of the shift. He remembered he had left his coat, and stepped back into the building at the instant of the explosion. He was taken to the Burlington hospital, where he died at 10:10 Thursday night. Mr. Wixom had worked at a janitor at the plant about three weeks.

Surviving are his wife; four children, Clarence, Jr., Virginia, Robert and Shirley, al lat home; one sister, Mrs. Cora Washburn of New Boston, and four brothers, Sam of Burlington, Jesse of Cedar Rapids, Isaac of Keokuk and Walter (Ted) of Farmington.
