Sylvester O. Satterly

Sylvester O. Satterly, son of Hugh and Louisa Carter Satterly, was born in Harrison Township, Lee County, Iowa, August 30, 1887, and passed away at his home in Farmington. Wednesday, may 22, 1957, after a long illness. All his life was spent in and near Farmington.

When a young man, he united with the Presbyterian Church, then in Primrose, Iowa, later transferring his membership to the Methodist Church in Farmington.

On March 12, 1913, he was united in marriage with Nellie A. Poole of Primrose. They were the parents of seven children. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and a son, Glenn E. who passed away May 9, 1950. Surviving, besides the wife, are three sons, Robert M. of Farmington; Willard B. and Dale E. of Keokuk; three daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Ramey, Farmington; Mrs. Virginia Saboski, Clifton, N. J.; Mrs. Mina Lou Wallace, Elvaston, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Trumbo, Jefferson, Iowa; Mrs. Elsie Dumenil, Argyle, Iowa; and aunt, Mrs. Ina Ketcham, of Farmington; thirteen grandchildren and numerous other relatives.

The funeral was held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Methodist church with the Rev. Donald Arthur officiating ________cut off____________.
