W.H. Birchmier, Farmer of Near Troy, Succumbs

Death claimed William Henry Birchmier, 79 years old, at his home northwest of Troy, about 8:30 oclock[sic] Monday morning. Mr. Birchmier had been in poor health for some time.

Funeral rites were conducted at the Hickory Grove church Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 oclock[sic] with Rev. L.R. Hudson preaching the funeral sermon. Burial was at the Rouch cemetery.

Mr. Birchmier was married to Amanda Downing, December 8, 1881. She survives him in addition to three daughters, Mrs. Joseph Barker, of near Troy; Mrs. Ollie Head of Princeton, Ill.; and Mrs. Reva Green of near Douds; and three sons, Clell Birchmier of Nevada, Iowa; Leo Birchmier of Farmington, and Charles Birchmier who lived near the home place. Twenty-five grandchildren also survive. Preceding Mr. Bichmier[sic] in death were two sons and two daughters.
