JOHN HUGGINS

John Huggins, only child of Charles and Mary Folker Huggins, was born in Clark County, Mo., Oct. 10, 1876, and passed away at the Ferguson Nursing Home in Bonaparte Oct. 20, 1953 at the age of 77.

He attended school at Lamar, Mo., and later moved to Farmington, Iowa, where attended grade school.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Only surviving relatives are several cousins, including Mrs. Albert Willits and Gertrude Folker and C. B. Folkier of Farmington,

He took an active part in the civic interests of the community, although he was confined to a wheel chair or his bed the most of his life. He loved to visit with people and enjoyed the radio, especially ball games. He had in his possession a baseball personally autographed by Babe Ruth and a picture autographed by Dizzy Dean.

He had been a correspondent for several newspapers for years.

Funeral services are being held Thursday, Oct. 22 from Azbell’s Chapel. Burial will be in Christy cemetery at Acasto.
