David A. Robinson was born in Saratoga county, N.Y., July 20, 1830, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs F. B. Wilson, October 22, 1907, at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 2 days. When about six years of age he moved with his parents to Richland county, Ohio, and there grew to manhood. In 1853 he came to Benton county, Iowa. The year of 1855 and 1856 were spent at his Ohio home. August 7, 1856 near Idependence, Ohio, he was united in marriage to Nancy Margaret Hazlett, when they returned to his former Benton couny home, remaining there for eleven years. They then moved to Van Buren county, Iowa, which has ever since been his home. He was raised by pious Quaker parents and in early manhood was converted and united with the Baptist church. On coming to Iowa he identified himself with the Protestant Methodist church, which church he faithfully served until four years ago when he came to Keosauqua to make his home with his son Charles and family, where under the pastorate of Rev. H. A. Ingham he united with the M. E. church, of which he was a much beloved and honored member. How faithful was he to his Master's work! He made it a pleasure to serve him. He will be greatly missed. His home life was a benediction to those about him, for in his quiet manner he was constantly showing his great love for his children and grandchildren. He leaves to mourn for him one son, Charles U. G. of Kesauqua, and two daughters, Eunice, wife of G. J. Wilson of near Lebonon, and Mary, wife of F. B. Wilson, near Milton; besides these, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. His wife and three sons, Aurilius A., William, and Lyman preceded him to the better land. Four weeks ago, while visiting his youngest daughter, he was stricken with paralysis, from which he never recovered, leaving this world at 4:20, Tuesday, Oct. 22. He was a patient sufferer, insisting on being up that he might be of less trouble to his loved ones. Funeral serviceswere held at the M. E. church at Milton, in charge of ____ pastor, Rev. D. R. Martin, Rev. H. A. Ingham of Winfield, IA., preaching the sermon. Masses of flowers were carried by loving hands as a last token of love and respct for him, who in life was a lover of nature. Interment was made in the new cemetery, Milton.

This is a transcript of the original obituary of unkown source that is in my family's posession. David was my 2nd great grandfather.
