KEOSAUQUA MAN KILLED BY CAR

FRANK TEAL STRUCK AS HE WALKS HOME ON HIGHWAY NO. 1.

(Special to The Courier.)
Keosauqua, Nov. 18-Frank Teal, farmer living near Keosauqua, was instantly killed about 8'oclock Saturday night when struck by an automobile while walking along highway No. 1 a mile south of this city.

The car was driven by Mr. Black, an employe at the Keosauqua state park, but the driver was not held.

Teal had driven to Keosauqua from his home, one and one half mile southeast of here, and had left the car there for the use of one of his sons who had accompanied him.

Black was driving from Keosauqua to Bonaparte and was behind Teal when he struck him on a curve in the road. Teal was dragged several feet by the car after being struck and knocked down. Aid was summoned from Keosauqua, but Coroner H.A. Burnett's report was that the man was instantly killed.

Teal is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Delbert Anderson of Charles City and Miss Reva Teal, at home; three sons, Marvin, Norwood and Lyle, all at home; his mother, Mrs. Mary Teal of near Keosauqua, his twin sister, Mrs. Robert Barker also of near Keosauqua and another sister, Mrs. Judson Keck of Keosauqua and one brother, Ferguson Teal of Fairfield.

Funeral services were held at 1 o'clock this afternoon from the Methodist Episcopal church at Utica, near Stockport. Burial was made in the Utica cemetery.
