The Watcher

She always learned to watch for us,
Anxious if we were late,
In winter by the window,
In summer by the gate.
The long way home would be seen more safe,
Because she waited there,
Waiting till we come home to her,
Anxious if we were late-
Watching from heaven's window,
Leaning from Heaven's gate.

Funeral services were conducted in the Methodist Church at Palaski(sp), Iowa by the pastor, Rev. Lacy H. Thompson, Tuesday afternoon August 3. Music was furnished by Mrs. Helen Sutton, Mrs. Joyce Nemitz, Harold Baughman, Forest Hartzler with Mabelle Harrison at the piano.
