Hovey Hootman's Funeral Is Friday
**Handwritten: 48Funeral services for Hovey Hootman, 76, life-long resident of Van Buren county, will be held at the Mt. Zion Presbyterian church Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with the Rev. Howard C. Irvine of Birmingham in charge.
It is undecided where burial will be made, but the Douds American Legion Post will have charge of interment.

Mr. Hootman died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at his home in Birmingham after a lingering illness of several weeks. He had lived on a farm northeast of Douds until recently when he moved to Birmingham because of ill health.
He had lived in this vicinity for 65 years, although a number of his years were spent away in school work. He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War.
Mr. Hootman was always interested in agriculture and music, and had been a member of the Mt. Zion Presbyterian church all of his life.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Janet, a student at Parsons College in Fairfield; a brother, Jud Hootman of Cantril; and two sisters, Mrs. J.A. Powelson of Santa Ana, Calif., and Mrs. Orpha Ogden of Birmingham.
