LAST RITES FOR PRINCE BARTLEY
**Handwritten: 1936

The Guymon Methodist Church was filled yesterday with sorrowing friends from Rolla, Liberal, Goodwell, Pleasant Plains and Guymon, who came to bid farewell to Prince Bartley who had been stricken in early manhood.

The pastor and long-time friend of the family, R.L. Wells, read the biographical sketch of the deceased and invited attention to the twelfth chapter of Ecclesiastes. In his prayer, he remembered the sorrowing young wife, the father, grandparents and implored the consolation of the Holy Spirit upon all who know the pang of sorrow.

Rev. Paul White brought the message from the twenty-third psalm, pointing out that David discovered God as a Shepherd whom he could trust, only after an experience of sorrow.

A large number of beautiful floral pieces gave mute testimony of the love and esteem of neighbors and friends. A procession one mile in length followed the body to its resting place beside the mother who had proceeded him by only six months.

Young of Elkhart, Mrs. Earl Ipson of Rolla; an uncle George Nelson; nieces; nephews, parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Millard and a large circle of friends.
