SERVICES HELD TUESDAY FOR MRS. G.W. GILBERT

Mrs. George W. Gilbert, the former Eva R. Strong, was born in Douds-Leando on Dec. 7, 1871, the daughter of Ferd and Julia Strong.

On Oct. 30, 1887, she was married to George W. Gilbert of Selma. They were the parents of five children, Jay Gilbert, a son, died in infancy. Those surviving are: Mrs. Lee Gilbert, Des Moines, Vern E. Gilbert, Oskaloosa, Mrs. Frank Garlock, Brashear, Mo. and Warren Gilbert, Ottumwa.

Also surviving is a brother, John Strong, Eldon, and five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Her husband preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 1949.

She was a member of the Methodist church at Ottumwa and Douds and the Christian church at Oskaloosa.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Leando Methodist church. Rev. Robert Farr officiated. Burial was in Leando cemetery.
