Mrs. Mattie Gilbert Dies Following 6 Year Illness

Mrs. Mattie Gilbert, 81, died at her farm home five miles east of Douds early Saturday morning. She had been ill for the last six years. Mrs. Gilbert made her home on the same farm for the last fifty years.

Surviving is her son, Fred and wife, with whom she made her home, and one brother, J.O. Ranard of Waterloo.

Funeral services were held Monday October 2, at the Kilbourne church in charge of the Rev. F.M. James. Music was by Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Barker accompanied by Mrs. Craig Miller at the piano. Pallbearers were Walter Hootman, Lewis Hootman, Paul Reneker, Joshua Reneker, Jr., Raymond Parrott and Leo Parrott. Burial was in the Gilbert cemetery.
