David Doud died at his residence at Douds on Friday last, after an illness of about two weeks. Mr. Doud was born in Luzerne county, Penn., in 1807; moved to Hamilton county, Ohio, in 1818, and was there engaged in farming and collecting. In 1832 he married Miss Nance Blood, who died the following year. In 1840 he married Miss Ann M. Schuyler who survives him. In 1841, he came to his (sic) state then a territory, and took up a claim, and in 1844 moved his family here. In 1856, he was elected a member of the legislature, but on account of changing the state constitution at that time he served but one year. Mr. Doud served his neighbors as justice for seven or eight years also. He was a life-long democrat, a man of the strictest integrity, esteemed by all who knew him, and by all who knew him is his loss regretted. He leaves a family of three grown up sons and a good estate.
