MRS. JULIA DANIELS
**Handwritten: 1945

Julia Clare Lindsey, daughter of David V. and Ida Estella Lindsey, was born at Champaign, Ill., November 21st, 1884 and departed this life at Douds, Iowa, February 26th, 1945, aged 60 years, 3 months and 5 days.

On August 9th, 1913, she was united in marriage to William H. Russell, who preceded her in death on July 21st, 1923. To this union one daughter was born. In June 1929, she was united in marriage to John Daniels, Sr., who passed away November 22nd, 1932. She leaves to mourn her passing, her daughter, Mrs. Frances Salter and husband Joe and one grandson, William Salter. Seven stepchildren, John Daniels, Arthur Daniels and Mary Margaret Morrow of Douds; Mable Higdon and Clarence Daniels of Ottumwa; Edith Renes of Des Moines and Alice Brown of Kansas City, also eleven step-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Alice Henderson of Knoxville, Iowa, two brothers, Frank Lindsey of Buffalo, N.Y. and Leslie Lindsey of Ottumwa, two half-brothers, Don and D.V. of Chicago, her step-mother, Mrs. Ella Lindsey of Chicago, two step-sisters and a number of other relatives and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Mrs. Laura Erhardt, one step-brother. Dr. C.N. Stephenson and two brothers who died in infancy.

She had spent most of her life in this locality, where she took a prominent part in the activities of the community. She was a member and willing worker of the church, the aid society and a member of the Eastern Star.

She taught for a number of years in the Douds school. She took into her home a niece, Lucille Erhardt Barker, giving her a good home and loving care for four years.

The family wishes to thank everyone who was so kind during this time. It has been deeply appreciated.
