Clarence W. Weber, 79, Of Eldon Dies
**Handwritten: Dec 14 46ELDON. - Clarence Watson (Web) Weber, 79, retired farmer and grocer and a member of the Wapello county fair board since its organization, died at 10 a.m. Saturday at the University hospital in Iowa City.
He had been ill several months and had undergone surgery at Iowa City a few weeks ago, coming home and later returning there.
He was born January 8, 1867, in Wyaconda, Mo., the son of Edmond and Emma Weber, and came to Eldon in 1890. He was an active member of the Elks lodge in Ottumwa.
Surviving are his wife, Clara, and a brother, Elmer, of Kansas City. A sister and two brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today at the Campbell-Rupp funeral home here, in charge of officers of the Elks lodge at Ottumwa. Burial ws in the Eldon cemetery.
