Death Came After Critical Illness of Less Than Week; Survived by Husband, 3 Children

Funeral services for Mrs. Clem Steele, 79, will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Pedrick funeral home in Douds, in charge of Rev. E.K. Parrott. Interment will be in the Lebanon cemetery.

Singers at the final rites will be Mrs. Mabel Finney and Mrs. Beulah Pedrick, with Mrs. Lizzie Pollock as accompanist. The bearers will be J.S. Russell, Ed Buckles, Harve Russell, Dick Hoffsetter, Wayne Smith and George Saylor.

Mrs. Steele died Sunday at 7 p.m., at her home at Douds. She had been confined to her bed less than a week but had been in failing health for some time.

She is survived by her husband and three children, James Steele of Keosauqua, Harry Steele of Douds and Mrs. Warren Loar of near Troy, and a brother, Fred Likes of Lincoln, Nebr. A daughter, Mrs. Charles Brewer, preceded her in death several years ago.
