T.J. Poling Dies At Son's Home
**Handwritten: Jan 8 46Had Been Ill Only A Short Time; Funeral Services to be this Afternoon at Douds.
Funeral services for T.J. Poling, 83, will be held Tuesday, January 8th at the Pedrick funeral home at one thirty. The Rev. W.B. Roudybush, the new Methodist minister at Douds, will conduct the service. Music will be furnished by Forrest Hanshaw, Jay Doud, Raymond Finney and C.F. Nicklin, accompanied by Mrs. Forrest Hanshaw. Bearers are George Farmer, N.E. Plowam, Newton Winsell, Paul Winsell, Henry Plowman and Tom Sexton. Burial will be in the Leando cemetery.
Mr. Poling died Sunday morning at the home of his son, William Poling at Pittsburg. He had apparently been in excellent health until last Tuesday, when he suffered a stroke from which he never recovered.
A farmer, he had lived on the home farm three and a half miles south of Douds for the past 71 years. Last August he went to live with his son. Surviving are his son and seven grandchildren. His wife and two daughters preceded him in death.
