Martha Ann Baiely passed away at 6 p.m., July 8, 1947, at the Jefferson county hospital, where she had been confined for treatment of a broken hip.

She was born August 1, 1872, in Trenton, Mo., the daughter of David and Eliza Shelton, having reached that milestone in life 74 years, 11 months and 7 days.

On June 10, 1910, she was married to Charlie Bailey. They spent two years in Trenton, Mo., and then moved to a farm west of Stockport where they have resided the last 35 years.

She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband, Charlie, a son, Howard Hack of Hot Springs, Arkansas, a grandson, Robert Hack of Connersville, Ind., also a host of friends. Her father and mother, an infant daughter, together with a sister, Eva Shelton Jones and a brother, Zed Shelton, preceded her in death.

She was very active while her health permitted in the Stockport Methodist church of which she was a member. She was deeply interested in the White Shrine and a very conscientious worker in the Order of Eastern Star of which she was a charter member of Hillsboro, Iowa.

funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Stockport Methodith(sp) church with Rev. Theodore Bauer of Iowa City in charge. Burial in Spencer cemetery.

Burial was in the Spencer Cemetery. The Eastern Star had charge of the services at the grave. Pallbearers were Harley Beggs, Thompson Clark, R.A. Workman, Sr., Robert Morrison, Henry Bailey, Chauncey Bailey.

Honorary pallbearers included Mrs. Blanche Pulsipher, Mrs. Bessie Duvall, Mrs. Gladys Graber, Mrs. Clara Smutz, Mrs. Elizabeth Smutz, Mrs. Faye Clark.
