Bloomfield Man's Brother at Fremont Victim of Lockjaw
Funeral services were held last Sunday for L.C. Humphreys, 74, of Fremont, a brother of H.H. Humphreys, of Bloomfield. The Fremont man died at the Mahaska County hospital, in Oskaloosa, Jan. 31st, a victim of lockjaw. The funeral was at the Fremont Baptist church and burial was at the Brooks cemetery, near Hedrick.
In addition to the brother here, Mr. Humphreys is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Bertha McNew, of Kentucky, and four sisters, Mrs. U.G. Scott, Ottumwa, Mrs. Olive Marks, Springfield, Ill., Mrs. June Parker, Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Bess Wilcox, St. Louis, Mo. He was preceded in death by a former wife, a sister and two brothers.
H.H. Humphreys, here, received a telegram, Monday, advising him of the death of his brother-in-law, Clarence Waltz, of Franklin, Ind.
