Eugene Workman Dies in Stockport
Implement Dealer, 69, Leaves Wife, 2 Sons, 2 Grandchildren, Brother and Sister.
Eugene Workman, a retired railway depot agent died at his home in Stockport Sunday night after a prolonged period of ill health. At one time he was the station agent at Keosauqua.
He was born in Stockport on July 4, 1873, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Olive P. Workman, and was married in 1903 to Miss Ada Newman.
When a young man he was a telegraph operator and later in partnership with his brother owned and operated the Stockport elevator. For a few years he was in the implement business at Stockport with his son Lloyd.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Lloyd and Lester Workman, of Stockport; two granddaughters; a brother, R.A. Workman of Stockport, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Fleming of Fairfield.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Stockport at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Masonic services were held at the grave.
