Wireman dies at 61
James A. Wireman, 61, native of Birmingham, died at 9 p.m. Saturday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iowa City. He had been in failing health for the past year.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Clair Odell officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery at Birmingham.
Wireman had been a radio engineer and a veteran of the Armed Forces during World War II.
James A. Wireman was born Jan. 29, 1922 in Birmingham. He was the son of James M. and Alice K. Killion Wireman. He was reared and educated in the Birmingham Community.
Survivors include two sisters and two brothers: Blanche Wireman, Waterloo; Anna Shepherd, Burlington; Francis Wireman, Waterloo; and William Wireman, Media, Ill. Ada Henness, Fairfield, is an aunt.
