LEO EDWARD McCURDY

Leo Edward McCurdy, the son of James Christopher McCurdy and Emma Wolf McCurdy was born in Bloomfield, Iowa on January 2, 1917. He grew up near Douds, and graduated from High School there. He attended college at Iowa City.

He was married to Bonnie Bayless after serving in the Second World War. To this union was born four children, James Christopher II of Frankfort, Germany, Mrs. Sandy Peterson, (Karen), Nan, a senior in High School and Clay who is eleven years old.

He was a Ford car dealer in Jacksonville, Ill. and lived there most of his married life. Three years ago he moved, with his family to Chesterfield, Mo. He was a stock broker in St. Louis, Mo.

He passed away on September 30, 1972 in a hospital in St. Louis after undergoing a heart operation.

He leaves besides his wife and children two sisters, Mrs. Harold Laughlin of Batavia, Iowa, Mrs. Stanley E. Gire of Douds, Iowa. Three brothers also survive. They are Troy of Springfield, Va., Harold of San Jose, Calif. and Billie of San Gabriel, Calif.

[...grandson James Wilson M.D., three great grand children and one great grandson, all of Chariton, Iowa, several step grandsons and a step great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Catcott Funeral Home in Keosauqua at 2 o'clock p.m. Saturday, October 7, with the Rev. K.L. Winrich officiating. Burial was in Center Chapel Cemetery. **Handwritten: 1972]
