Mrs. Mary Thurston

KEOSAUQUA - Mrs. Mary Catherine Thurston, 86, died April 15 at her home in Keosauqua. Death terminated a long illness.

A native of Raritan, Ill., she was born Nov. 11, 1868, the daughter of Ira V.C. and Julia Murphy Gulick. She was married to William Thurston on Feb. 15, 1893 and they moved to Van Buren county 17 years ago. They settled in Keosauqua 11 years ago. Thurston died in 1948.

Mrs. Thurston was a member of the White Shrine of Cedar Falls.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Ella Gove, of Keosauqua, and several nieces and nephews.

A brother, William Gulick, died recently.

The body is at the Burnett-Catcott funeral home.
