Milton, Sept. 24- George Pennington died Saturday morning. The funeral was
conducted on Monday at 11 o'clock by Rev. John Barnett, of the Methodist
Episcopal church assisted by others. The deceased was for over forty years a
justice of the peace here and also for many years the town assessor. He was 81
years old and was one of the oldest settlers of Milton. He is survived by his
wife and five children, three of them, Dr. Sherman Pennington, Charley
Pennington and Mrs. Mary McCombs, being residents of Milton. Interment was made
in the new cemetery.
