Walter Crafton

BIRMINGHAM - Walter Crafton, 79, died Tuesday evening in Keosauqua.

He was born June 19, 1892, the son of Richard and Mary J. Clemens Crafton. He was married Nov. 18, 1917, at Fairfield to Bertha Pickerell. She survives.

Also surviving are five sons, Robert of Davenport, Kenneth of Cedar Falls, Roy of Bettendorf, Paul and Leonard, both of Birmingham; five daughters, Mrs. Mildred Brown of Davenport, Mrs. Joan Jones and Mrs. Marilyn Rettig, both of Burlington, Mrs. Marjorie Snook of Fairfield, and Idora Crafton of Keosauqua; 21 grandchildren; two brothers, James of Wayland, and Clarence of Birmingham; and one sister, Mrs. Clara Weston of Oklahoma City, Okla.

The service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Burch Fuenral Home in Birmingham, conducted by the Rev. Millard Marshall. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
