Dr. O.V. Calhoun

Dr. O.V. Calhoun, 52, native of Birmingham, Iowa, prominent physician and surgeon in Lincoln, Nebr., died at his home there of a heart attack at 9:15 p.m. Monday.

Dr. Calhoun had come to Burlington by train last Sunday for a surprise visit with his mother, Mrs. Ethel N. Calhoun of Birmingham, on her 84th birthday. He returned to Lincoln Sunday night.

He was born in Birmingham, was graduated from Iowa Wesleyan college and Western Reserve Medical school at Cleveland, Ohio, and had taken some preparatory work at John Hopkins university. He was chief medical service at the Veterans hospital at Lincoln and had served on the Lincoln School Board as part of his many civic activities. He served in the Navy during world war II.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; a son, David; two daughters, Jane Ann and Mary Lou; his mother; and brothers, John of Burlington, Claude of Ft. Madison and Herbert of Oskaloosa.

Funeral services and burial were at Lincoln.
