Aaron Hawbaker

Aaron W. Hawbaker, 79, of ?46 S. Walnut, died at his home Tuesday at 10:15 a.m.

He had been an employe of John Morrell & Co. for 43 years prior to his retirement in 1959.

He was born May 12, 1894,in Van Buren County, to Isaac and Laura Pool Hawbaker, and had lived in Ottumwa since 1922. He was a member of the Church of God, Seventh Day, American Legion, and Veterans World War I.

He married Etta Mathias Sept. 25, 1921, at Fairfield. She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Mary Etta Canny of Dallas, Tex.; three granddaughters; three sisters, Mrs. Ella Bishop of Ottumwa, Mrs. Pearl Krueger of Batavia, and Mrs. Beulah Turner of Pampa, Tex. He was preceded in death by a son in infancy, four sisters and one brother.

Services will be Saturday, 1:30 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Chapel with Elder Earl G. Harrington of the Church of God, Seventh Day, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Legion services will be held at the grave.
