BENJAMIN S. POOL

Benjamin S. Pool was born in Davis county, Iowa, in the year 1868, and at the time of his death was 64 years old. He was a son of Jacob and Matilda Pool. Following the death of his father, his mother moved to Van Buren county, south of Selma, where she reared her family, and Ben remained with his mother until her death 17 years ago. Since that time he has lived 3 miles north of Selma, engaged in his trade of blacksmith.

He passed away at his home Friday evening, Jan. 22, 1932. His death was sudden, having told a neighbor he was well just a few minutes before he collapsed and passed away.

He was unmarried and is survived by one brother, Isaac Pool, and his brother's wife, Mrs. Anna Pool, and their family, four nieces, Mabel, Mae, Della and Maude, six nephews, Guy, Ray, Roy, Ben Fred and Lester, all living at Avon, Idaho; also a niece, Mrs. John Ritz of Selma, Iowa, who is a daughter of his sister, Mrs. Amanda Lefevre who died in 1889, survives. The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at one o'clock at the M.E. church in Leando, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Merton D. Wyatt. Interment was made in the Leando cemetery. The pall bearers were Fred Kunzman, Walter Sims, Harlan Heckert, Allan, Lee and Philip Ritz.
