MARY A. BROWN.
**Handwritten: 1914

Mary A. Dickerson was born in Belmont county, Ohio, Sept. 12, 1826, and departed January 17, 1914, at the advanced age of 87 years, 4 month and 5 days. She came to Iowa with her parents in 1838, settling in Van Buren county near Troy. In 1845 she was united in marriage to George W. Brown. To this union six children were born, two dying in childhood, one dying in early womanhood. Two sons and one daughter remain to mourn their loss. She united with the Missionary Baptist church in early womanhood and remained a faithful member until death.

The funeral was preached by Brother William Hegar at the Baptist church. The pall bearers were Charley, Roscoe, Hollis and Harold Brown, Harry Lagle and James Clark. We wish to thank all the neighbors and friends for the kindness shown us in our trouble and sickness.
