OBITUARY.
**Handwritten: 1901

Margaret Cleary, wife of Mr. J.L. Passmore, died on the 17th of August, 1901. She was a native of Ireland, but came to this country when a child. She lived for many years in St. Louis, where she was married. She came to this county with her husband and family about twenty years ago, and had lived at their home on the south side of the river, nearly opposite Selma, ever since. Mrs. Passmore had a severe attack of the grippe last January, from which she never rallied. The heated term through July caused her to grow very weak, and all that doctors and her family could do was done, to save her if possible and to make her comfortable. She was a patient Christian wife and mother, always thinking first of others before her self. She leaves her husband, two daughters and one son to whom she was the life and the light of the home. But the bond that bound them together on earth is severed. She has passed the Portal from which none return, but they know the life she lived was worthy of imitation, and they can follow her. For a time they had hopes of her recovery, but -

Pale and w?? she grew, and weakly
Bearing all her p??s so meekly
That to them she will grew dearer
As th?tri hour grew nearer.:

She was laid to rest in the little cemetery near their home, the mound above her being covered with flowers.
