MRS. FRANK NELSON
**Handwritten: 1926

Lillie Isabell Erickson, daughter of J. A. and Hannah Erickson, was born in Van Buren county, Iowa, May 30, 1874, and died at her home near Douds, Iowa, April 24, 1926, aged 51 years, 10 months and 24 days.

She was married to Frank A. Nelson, December 25, 1895. To this union were born four sons: Floyd, who lives near his parents; Merrill, who died in infancy; Harold and Stanley at home, and two daughters Wilda and Esther at home.

Mrs. Nelson lived in Van Buren county all her life. After her marriage she and her husband lived on a farm two miles southwest of Douds-Leando where she made her home until the time of her death.

She was converted to the Christian faith when about 14 years of age and united with the Baptist church. In 1914 she transferred her membership to the M. E. church at Leando, where it remained until the time of her departure. She was a devoted Christian woman, ever true and faithful to the church she loved. If we were to say she was a good woman, it would not do her justice. She was truly a child of God. She knew in whom she had believed.

She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, ever glad of the privilege of sacrificing herself not only for her own loved ones but also for others. To know her was to love her. As her life went out a light in the home went out with it and a light in the church and community ceased to shine and who will supply the need.

Besides her husband she leaves to mourn her departure, her father, J. A. Erickson of Monrovia, Calif.; one sister Mrs. Evelyn Webster of Los Angeles, California; one half brother Clarence Erickson of Monrovia, Calif.; two granddaughters Marjorie and Kathleen of Douds, a number of other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at the M.E. church at Leando, Rev. Ellis of Blakesburg, Ia., being in charge, assisted by Rev. Hamilton. Music by Douds male quartet.

We desire to thank the friends and neighbors for their sympathy and for the many acts of kindness in our recent great bereavement; also for the beautiful floral offering.

Frank Nelson and Family.
