Death Takes Laura Runyon

STOCKPORT - Mrs. Laura A. Runyon, 88, well known resident of the Stockport community, died at 11:10 p.m. Wednesday at the Van Buren Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua.

She had been in failing health the past three years and seriously ill the past month.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Big Cedar Christian Church northeast of Stockport. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery.

Laura A. Runyon was born Dec. 10, 1884, near Stockport. She was the daughter of William and Anna Bailey Watson.

Her marriage to William F. Runyon took place Jan. 1, 1907. He died Feb. 13, 1955.

Mrs. Runyon was a member of Big Cedar Christian Church and lived nearly all her life in the Stockport Community.

Survivors include one son, Leslie Runyon, Keosauqua; one daughter, Mrs. George Giberson, Stockport; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

The family will be at the Weston Behner Funeral Home Friday evening from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
