JOHN F. YARNELL
**Handwritten: 1931John Franklin Yarnell, son of Eli and Lucy Yarnell was born in Birmingham July 10, 1863, and departed this life at his home in Leando Jan. 19, 1931, aged 67 years, 6 months and 9 days.
Nov. 14th, 1889, he was united in marriage to Ettie Hoops and to this union seven children were born, one daughter, Ethel, dying in childhood.
He leaves to mourn their loss his wife and six children, Jay and Wilbur of near Douds, Elma, Fred, Frances and Clair at home, a daughter-in-law, Velma, and two grand children, Donald and Dean Yarnell, one brother, Edd Yarnell of Birmingham, and three sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Horn of Birmingham, Mrs. Maime Grimes of Fairfield, Mrs. Debby Cramer of Canton, Ill., and one half-sister, Mrs. Eva Lawson of Birmingham. His father, mother, one sister and one brother preceded him in death.
His entire life had been spent in this county except a few years in Kansas when a young man. At an early age he united with the M.E. church and has always been a true Christian, and active member until poor health prevented. He has been a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge in Leando for 42 years.
He was a kind father and loving husband and a true friend and had a cheerful word and smile for all he knew. He will be sadly missed by his family and a host of friends.
The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at the Leando church, conducted by Rev. P.O. Cline.
**I do limited research on the YARNELL and HORN lineage.
