NOTES FROM LEANDO.

Mrs. Andrew Parsons died at her home south of Leando on the 8th at the age of 77 yrs, 4 mo, and 29 days. She was born in Pennsylvania and came to Iowa about the year 1838. Her maiden name was Eliza C. Smith and was married to Andrew Parsons at Keosauqua on the 18th of April 1843. Their "Golden Wedding" was celebrated six years ago by their children and friends. Their married life has been spent in Van Buren Co. with the exception of six years spent in Virginia.

They have lived at their present home over forty years. She was the mother of five children one son and four daughters, one daughter having preceded her mother to the "great beyond." She leaves her husband, one son and three daughters and nineteen grandchildren to mourn their loss. She was a patient sufferer for over two years being confined to her bed all that time. At the age of seventeen she united with the Methodist church. She was laid to rest in the Leando cemetery(sp).

"Removed from this world of trouble and pain
Her soul with her Savior forever shall reign
Grieve not dearest friends because she is gone
For praise that is glorious shall now be her song."

Mrs. Petit, of Grinnell who was called here by the serious condition of her mother, Mrs. Parsons, lelf(left) for her home on Monday the 11th.
