OBITUARIES.

MRS. CAROLINE P. PETTIT.

Mrs. Caroline P. Pettit died at her home in Grinnell, Dec. 27, 1909. She was a former resident of Van Buren county and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Parsons whose home was near Leando, her brother Miller Parsons still residing in that locality. Carried, as she was known among her friends, was a favorite with her acquaintances. She was married to Samuel Pettit on her 19th birthday, living here for several years and then moving to Grinnell where there were better advantages for educating their children. The husband and children. The husband and children are now left to mourn for the wife and mother. She made several trips to the old home in this county, which she was buried at Grinnell, her brother Miller Parsons and son Leslie and Mrs. D.B. Wirt of near Leando, attending the funeral. She was in her 55th years when death called her. She was a good woman.
