William H. Taylor
1928-2000

William H. Taylor, 72, of rural Eldon died at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday Oct. 4, 2000, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. David Albert officiating. Burial will be in Iowaville Cemetery near Selma.

Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with family present from 7-8 p.m. Memorials to the family may be left at the funeral home.

Mr. Taylor was born Sept. 3, 1928, near Douds, the son of Earl and Ila Wiles Taylor. He married Shirley Liles May 21, 1951.

He grew up in the Douds-Selma area, was a farmer and truck driver, worked at Philco-Ford and Parsons College in Fairfield. He was a carpenter, a fence builder and a cowboy in western states.

He was a member of the former Van Buren Lodge No. 350, IOOF in Selma.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Barbara Giberson of Douds; two sons, Dusty Taylor of Selma and Kendall Taylor of Eldon; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Taylor Jr. of Eldon and Richard Taylor of Burlington; and two sisters, Darlene Sprouse and Betty Roberts, both of Bloomfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Russell Taylor; and two brothers, Larry and Donald Taylor.
