CHARLES K. GARDNER.
**Handwritten: 1932Charles K. Gardner, son of John F. and Lucinda Gardner, was born in Macon, Mo., May 16, 1865, and passed away at the home of his sister near Douds Jan. 16, 1932, a the age of 66 years. He had not been well for some time, and became worse two weeks ago, so he was removed to the home of his sister, Mrs. J.S. Russell, where he was tenderly cared for.
He was the oldest of a family of seven children. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. J.S. Russell of Douds, Mollie Gardner and Lottie Walker of Texas, and two brothers, Sam Gardner of Pennsylvania and Joe Gardner of California. He also leaves two nephews, Robert and Jack Walker of Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents several years ago, and by his brother, Robert in 1916.
His home was at Kirksville, Mo., until he was 21 years of age. He then came to Iowa, where he had made his home most of the time, and for the last ten years he had resided on a farm near Pittsburg.
He was a good brother and a kind neighbor, and will be sadly missed by his relatives and a host of friends.
The funeral was held at the home of Mrs. J.S. Russell, Rev. M.D. Wyatt of Douds, having charge of the services.
