H. Mellott rites Thursday

MILTON - Graveside services for Harlan Mellott, 73, Milton, who died at 5 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9 at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iowa City, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sunnyside Cemetery near Milton with the Rev. Charles Kaufman officiating.

Burial will be with military rites. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 tonight at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Mellott was born Dec. 17, 1914 in Packwood, the son of Williamd and Goldie Sipe Mellott. He lived most of his life in Bright and Howard counties, where he farmed. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion.

Surviving are two sons, Keith and Kenneth, both of Fairfield; a daughter, Kathy Ehlert of Carthage, Ill., and six grandchildren. A brother preceded him in death.
