**Handwritten: KEO REP 7 Sept 1899

--The Army and Navy Journal, in its list of killed at Manila, gives the name of Converse P. Warner of Co. G 12th Regular Infantry, killed in battle June 4. He was a brother of Harry C. Warner, a respected young farmer residing near Pittsburg, this county. The 12th Infantry is Major High Brown's regiment, who is now in Keosauqua, Maj. Brown sailed from Manila on June 5, and as Warner was killed out on the firing line only the day before, he knew nothing of it until he reached the United States, nor did Harry, his brother have any authentic word of his death until verified this week by the name among the killed as published in the Army and Navy Journal.
